Tips for combining digital and hand-drawn techniques

Just read an interesting Creative Bloq article for combining digital and hand-drawn techniques: http://www.creativebloq.com/adobe/7-tips-using-textures-illustrator-31410998

As an artist, illustrator and designer I share Nicole Tan’s passion for both digital and traditional media: how we wish there was a “ctrl-z” or “undo” button for the real world! I love it when illustrators and artists combine the two worlds: both have so much to offer and why does one have to cancel out the other?

  1. haha, i could relate to the “ctrl+z”. it really is such a pain when doing traditional media and making mistake. I also like putting additional digital texture to my illustrations whenever i feel like it needs to be added. But when doing vector in illustrator , i also do what your links said 🙂 sometimes i make some scratches of crayons or ink textures by hand, scan it and digitally add it to vectors or digital illus 🙂 there’s just something about the real strokes of brush and textures that digital can’t capture 🙂
